Zusammenfassung
Die subtile Kenntnis der Anatomie des epifaszialen Venensystems sowie seiner Verbindungen zum tiefen Venensystem ist eine unabdingbare Voraussetzung für jeden, der sich der invasiven Therapie der Varikose zuwendet. Sie ist eine Grundvoraussetzung, um strategische und taktische Überlegungen bei der Planung von Behandlungsmaßnahmen bei dieser nicht heilbaren Erkrankung anstellen zu können. Dies gilt auch für die komplizierten anatomischen und morphologischen Abhängigkeiten zum Verständnis der venösen Hämodynamik. Die Anatomie des oberflächlichen Venensystems ist allerdings reich an Varianten und Besonderheiten, was sowohl in der Therapie, aber auch in der Diagnostik eine detailreiche Kenntnis der Möglichkeiten weit über den Wissensstand der „normalen“ Anatomie hinaus erfordert.
