Zusammenfassung
Die International Continence Society (ICS) hat die Terminologie der Funktion des unteren Harntraktes vor fast 20 Jahren komplett neu standardisiert [2]. Diese Definitionen sind für die Patienten aller Altersklassen gültig. Ziel dieser Terminologie ist es, eine bessere Kompatibilität internationaler Klassifikationen und Publikationen zu ermöglichen und Untersuchungsergebnisse vergleichbar zu machen. Der Arbeitskreis Urologische Funktionsdiagnostik und Urologie der Frau hat diese Standardisierung kritisch evaluiert und diese Terminologie zur Beurteilung von Blasen- und Sphinkterfunktionsstörungen in vielen Bereichen übernommen. Abweichungen von den Empfehlungen der ICS werden in den folgenden Kapiteln gesondert gekennzeichnet.
