Zusammenfassung
Die normale Funktion des unteren Harntraktes und des Beckenbodens hängt von einem koordinierten Zusammenspiel afferenter sensorischer und efferenter motorischer Nervenimpulse sowie von der korrekten Verarbeitung der Informationen im zentralen Nervensystem ab. Eine Vielzahl von angeborenen oder erworbenen Störungen oder Schäden im zentralen und peripheren Nervensystem führen zu Funktionsstörungen des Harntrakts. Diese Funktionsstörungen können mit Symptomen einhergehen oder aber (zunächst) asymptomatisch bleiben.
