Open-Space-Büros sind hierarchiefreie Großraumbüros, in denen die Kooperation durch architektonische Maßnahmen gefördert werden soll. Bureaucracy Busters sind Großgruppenverfahren, bei denen in Organisationen bürokratische Hürden, die die Arbeit behindern, identifiziert und Vorschläge zur Abschaffung beschlossen werden. Barcamps sind hierarchiefreie „Unkonferenzen“, bei denen die Teilnehmenden für ihre Themen werben und kurze Workshops zu diesen anbieten, wenn sie sich durchgesetzt haben. Innovation Garages sind Garagen, die als Innovationslabore auf dem Gelände eines Unternehmens aufgestellt werden. In diesen Räumen arbeiten die Mitarbeiter autonom und bereichsübergreifend für eine begrenzte Zeit an einer Innovation. Alle anderen Begriffe werden im Laufe des Texts erläutert oder werden von den Autoren als bekannt vorausgesetzt (z. B. Home-Office).
