Zusammenfassung
Woher kommen meine Beschwerden? Die Frage nach den Ursachen stellt sich wohl jeder Betroffene. Vorab: Vererbung trifft nur bei jedem 50. Patienten zu und bei jedem fünften lässt sich überhaupt keine Ursache feststellen. Beim Großteil aller Patienten ist Polyneuropathie durch Einflüsse im Laufe des Lebens entstanden. Und hier stehen unter den Verursachern laut Statistik Zuckerkrankheit und chronischer, übermäßiger Alkoholkonsum an vorderster Stelle. Warum das so ist, wird im nachstehenden Kapitel ausführlich dargestellt. Das Risiko, an Polyneuropathie zu erkranken, trifft allerdings auch andere Personengruppen, wie im Folgenden gezeigt wird.
