Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel betrachten wir das Problem der optimalen Dimensionierung von Wassertransportnetzen. Für eine gegebene Topologie des Netzes muss man bei diesem Problem die festzulegenden Rohrdurchmesser möglichst kostengünstig wählen, so dass alle technisch-physikalischen Bedingungen erfüllt sind und die Kunden ihre vertraglich vereinbarten Mengen erhalten. Die Entscheidung über die Durchmesser selbst führt zu einer gemischt-ganzzahlige Modellierung und die Physik des Wasserflusses führt zu einem nichtlinearen Modell. Wir sind also erstmals mit einem gemischt-ganzzahligen und nichtlinearen Modell konfrontiert, für das wir einfache Reformulierungen diskutieren. Außerdem leiten wir in diesem Kapitel die stationäre Flussphysik aus der genaueren Beschreibung durch zeitabhängige partielle Differentialgleichungen her.
