Zusammenfassung
In Hongkong blühen überall die Baumorchideen (Bauhinia blakeana). Die Blüte ist seit 1997 in der Flagge Hongkongs und auf Münzen verewigt. Die etwa 25 000 Bauhinia-Bäume Hongkongs sollen alle von einem einzigen Baum abstammen. Die Pflanze fand der französische Missionar Jean-Marie Delavay 1880 bei einer Wanderung im damals außerhalb Hongkongs liegenden Dorf Pok Fu Lam.
