Zusammenfassung

Die Implantation von Schwellkörperprothesen fand ihren Ursprung in der Behandlung der erektilen Dysfunktion und der Induratio penis plastica. Historisch wurden Schwellkörper zunächst durch autologen Rippenknorpel ersetzt, bis die ersten artifiziellen Schwellkörperimplantate entwickelt wurden. Hier unterscheidet man semirigide und hydraulische Schwellkörperprothesen. In diesem Kapitel werden unterschiedliche Arten der derzeit kommerziell erhältlichen Schwellkörperprothesen und ihre Anwendungsindikation sowie die operative Technik der Implantation beschrieben.
