Abstract

The most common complication of anterior shoulder stabilization is recurrence of instability. Unrecognized bone loss or HAGL lesion, poor surgical technique, and repeated traumatic event are the main reasons of failure. History of recurrence, clinical examination, and radiological investigations are mainstay of revision surgical planning, which must address all of the causes of initial surgical failure. Arthroscopy is a mandatory part of the surgical revision procedure. Proper patient selection for specific surgical technique is required to improve the outcomes, which shows similar results for arthroscopic and open Bankart revisions.
