Zusammenfassung

Viele systemische Erkrankungen wie Sarkoidose, okuläres Pemphigoid, rheumatoide Arthritis, Sjögren-Syndrom und GvHD können okuläre Beteiligungen in Form des Sicca-Syndroms aufweisen. Auch weitere ophthalmologische Erkrankungen wie Allergien oder Blepharitis beeinflussen die Entwicklung eines Sicca-Syndroms, ebenso evtl. bestehende Refraktionsanomalien oder Phorien, welche asthenopische Beschwerden verursachen können. Dermatologische Erkrankungen sind gehäuft mit einer KCS assoziiert, z. B. Rosazea, Psoriais oder Neurodermitis. Teilweise kann die Keratokonjunktivitis sicca auch bei Allgemeinerkrankungen wie Diabetes mellitus oder diversen Infektionserkrankungen auftreten. Viele Ophthalmika und systemische Medikamente bewirken eine Keratokonjunktivitis sicca als unerwünschte Arzneimittelwirkung, beispielsweise Antiglaukomatosa, Konservierungsmittel oder Betarezeptorenblocker. Ophthalmochirurgische Eingriffe, z. B. die LASIK, sind ebenso gehäuft mit einer Sicca-Symptomatik assoziiert wie auch der Z. n. Bestrahlungstherapien.
