Zusammenfassung
Stress wird gemäß verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Ansätzen als Reaktion von Menschen auf Stressoren betrachtet. Andererseits werden aber auch Stressoren selbst verschiedentlich als „Stress“ bezeichnet. Dieses Kapitel beleuchtet – unabhängig von Nomenklaturen – physiologische und psychologische, lang- und kurzfristige Stressreaktionen. Als Beispiel für eine längerfristige Stressreaktion wird das Burn-out-Syndrom dargestellt.
