Zusammenfassung
Die medizinische Bildgebung stellt mit zunehmender Genauigkeit die Anatomie des Menschen aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln dar. Parallel zu diesem Fortschritt werden Operationsinstrumente zunehmend weniger invasiv, ermöglichen aber nicht zwangsläufig die Integration der vor einer Operation durchgeführten Bildgebung. So bleibt es die Aufgabe des Chirurgen, die Bilder vor einer Operation einzuschätzen und kognitiv mit dem vorliegenden Operationssitus zu fusionieren. Dies entspricht etwa dem Blick auf eine Landkarte, um dann den entsprechenden Weg aus dem Gedächtnis zu suchen und zu finden. Erst mit Einführung der GPS-Navigation, bei welcher die Karte mit der konkreten Position in Übereinstimmung gebracht wird, hat sich auch die Navigation in unserem Alltag revolutioniert. Unter einer ähnlichen Vorstellung wird auch in der „navigierten Chirurgie“ nunmehr versucht, das vorhandene Bildmaterial während eines Eingriffs direkt einzublenden und so dem Chirurgen den „optimalen Weg“ zu beschreiben.
