Zusammenfassung

Unter den peritonealen Tumoren steht die Peritonealkarzinose sowohl hinsichtlich Häufigkeit als auch in Bezug auf klinische und prognostische Konsequenzen klar im Vordergrund. Primäre maligne Tumoren des Peritoneums wie das Mesotheliom und das primäre seröse Karzinom sind selten und unterliegen dem gleichen diagnostischen Algorithmus wie die sekundären Tumoren. Aufgrund der außerordentlichen Vielfalt des morphologischen Erscheinungsbildes stellt die Diagnostik der Peritonealkarzinose auch im Zeitalter moderner Schnittbildverfahren immer noch eine große Herausforderung dar. Für die Planung neuartiger operativer Therapien mit kurativem Ansatz ist es jedoch von entscheidender Bedeutung, präoperativ das genaue Ausmaß der peritonealen Tumorlast zu erfassen und eine extraperitoneale Tumorausbreitung auszuschließen.
