Zusammenfassung

Bei einer Chorioamnionitis kommt es zu einer Infektion von Fruchtwasser, Eihäuten, Plazenta und/oder Dezidua. Die Infektion verläuft manifest oder subklinisch. Die Chorioamnionitis ist eine der Hauptursachen für peripartal auftretendes Fieber. Die Diagnose kann letztlich nur nachträglich durch histologische Sicherung erfolgen. Die Chorioamnionitis ist in 20–40% aller Fälle mit neonataler Sepsis assoziiert. Spätfolgen für das Kind können eine periventrikuläre Leukomalazie und spastische Zerebralparese als Folge einer möglicherweise überschießenden fetalen Immunreaktion sein.
