Zusammenfassung

Für ein Verständnis der (Öko-)Physiologie der Pflanzen ist ein fundiertes Wissen um die Gesetzmäßigkeiten des „Hauptlebensraums“ Luft unerlässlich. Hierfür wiederum sind grundlegende Kenntnisse der chemischen und physikalischen Gesetzmäßigkeiten dieses Mediums essenziell. In diesem Kapitel führen deshalb die allgemeinen Gas- und Diffusionsgesetze in die Eigenschaften der Atmosphäre ein. Darauf aufbauend werden dann das Verhalten von Kohlendioxid und Sauerstoff in Luft sowie deren Wasserlöslichkeiten, die zusammen praktisch alle Lebensvorgänge direkt und indirekt beeinflussen, näher betrachtet.
