Zusammenfassung

Thrombosen und Embolien können im arteriellen oder im venösen Gefäßsystem auftreten und zu schweren akuten und chronischen Funktionseinschränkungen der betroffenen Organe und Extremitäten führen. Die klinische Symptomatik hängt im Wesentlichen von der Lokalisation und Ausdehnung einer Stenose oder eines Verschlusses, von deren Kollateralisation sowie von individuellen anatomischen Gegebenheiten ab. Von besonderer Bedeutung können darüber hinaus bestimmte Begleitkrankheiten und -faktoren sein.
