Zusammenfassung

Nach einer Magenresektion kommt es durch den Verlust der Funktionen des Magens wie der Reservoirfunktion, der Innervierung der Magens und der Funktion des Pylorus zu einer Vielzahl von Veränderungen. Dazu gehören alimentäre und metabolische Mangelzustände, die Dumping-Syndrome, die Refluxösophagitis, die Gallensäurerefluxgastritis, die Schlingensyndrome und die Cholelithiasis. Die Magenchirurgie hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten einen grundlegenden Wandel erfahren. Durch die medikamentöse Ulkusprophylaxe und -therapie und die Entdeckung und Therapie von Helicobacter pylori ist die chirurgische Therapie der Ulkuserkrankung sehr selten geworden; auch die Inzidenz des Magenkarzinoms ist zurückgegangen. Durch die Verbesserung des Langzeitüberlebens des Magenkarzinoms hat die Bedeutung der Postgastrektomiesyndrome, die die Lebensqualität der Patienten erheblich beeinträchtigen können, zugenommen.
