Zusammenfassung
Im vorliegenden Beitrag soll eine komprimierte Übersicht des aktuellen Wissensstandes zum Einsatz von körperlicher Aktivität, Training und Sport in der Prävention und Behandlung häufiger psychischer Störungsbilder gegeben werden. Neben einer kurzen Einführung in die klinischen Besonderheiten und verfügbaren Therapieansätze des jeweiligen Krankheitsbildes soll der Schwerpunkt der Darstellung auf die Wirkung von körperlicher Aktivität, Training und Sport, auf die zugrundeliegenden Wirkmechanismen und auf mögliche Kontraindikationen für den individuellen Einsatz gelegt werden. Die in diesem Kapitel beschrieben Untersuchungen lassen vermuten, dass bei diversen psychiatrischen und neuropsychiatrischen Störungen nicht nur der psychische, sondern auch der körperliche Gesundheits- und Fitnesszustand durch Bewegung, körperliches Training und Sport verbessert werden kann und damit das überdurchschnittlich hohe Morbiditäts- und Mortalitätsrisiko der Betroffenen reduziert werden könnte. Um über die Ergebnisse von Beobachtungsstudien hinausgehende notwendige kausale Schlussfolgerungen zur präventiven, therapeutischen und neuroprotektiven Wirkung von körperlicher Aktivität, Training und Sport zu ziehen und wertvolle Hinweis zu den relevanten Wirkmechanismen zu erkennen, sind in Zukunft aufwendigere kontrollierte Interventionsstudien nötig.
