Zusammenfassung

Pruritus ist definiert als eine unangenehme Hautempfindung, die mit dem Wunsch zu kratzen verbunden ist. Chronischer Pruritus (ab 6 Wochen Dauer) ist das häufigste Hautsymptom verschiedenster Erkrankungen. Patienten mit chronischem Pruritus haben ein reduziertes Wohlbefinden und ein beeinträchtigtes soziales, familiäres und berufliches Leben. Das diagnostische Vorgehen bei chronischem Pruritus zielt auf die Identifizierung der Ursache und Triggerfaktoren ab und erfordert eine ausführliche Suche nach einer zugrunde liegenden dermatologischen, systemischen, neurologischen oder psychiatrischen Ursache. Die S2k-Leitlinie zum chronischen Pruritus schlägt einen Therapiealgorithmus vor, der auf Expertenmeinung und den derzeitig publizierten Studien beruht. In diesem Buchkapitel werden die wichtigsten Empfehlungen der Leitlinie, die aktuelle Klassifikation pruritogener Erkrankungen und deren wichtigsten Vertreter vorgestellt.
