Zusammenfassung

Bei der Mammaaugmentation ist zwischen der ästhetischen Brustvergrößerung (ggf. in Kombination mit einer Bruststraffung oder im Rahmen von Brustasymmetrie), Therapie bei Kapselfibrose, Mikromastie im Zusammenhang mit einer tuberösen/tubulären Brust zu unterscheiden von Brustrekonstruktion nach Krebstherapie nach Ablatio/Mastektomie, Strahlentherapie oder brusterhaltender Therapie. Einen Sonderfall stellt die immer häufiger vorkommende subkutane Mastektomie bei DCIS (duktuales Carcinoma in situ) bzw. Genträgerinnen (BRCA 1 u. a.) dar. Häufig kommen präoperativ Expander zur Aufdehnung des Gewebes zur Anwendung. Pectus excavatum (Trichterbrust) und Poland-Syndrom werden in diesem Kapitel ebenfalls besprochen.
