Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, wie sich Commitment auf die Gesundheit der Mitarbeiter auswirkt. Commitment steht für das psychologische Band zwischen dem einzelnen Mitarbeiter und der Organisation bzw. dem Unternehmen. Dabei hat sich die Unterscheidung zwischen affektivem, kalkulatorischem und normativem Commitment etabliert. Es gibt unterschiedliche Positionen, ob Commitment eher als Ressource zu betrachten ist oder auch ein Gesundheitsrisiko darstellen kann. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird ein Überblick darüber gegeben, welche Zusammenhänge zwischen organisationalem Commitment, Zufriedenheit, Leistung und insbesondere Gesundheit der Mitarbeiter bestehen und wie Commitment vor diesem Hintergrund gefördert werden kann. Dabei zeigt sich, dass affektives Commitment als gesundheitsförderlich betrachtet werden kann, während kalkulatorisches Commitment als Risiko einzustufen ist. Entsprechend sollten Organisationen bestrebt sein, das affektive Commitment ihrer Beschäftigten zu fördern und zu entwickeln. Im Sinne eines aktiven Commitmentmanagements werden hierfür mehrere Schritte und konkrete Ansatzpunkte auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen wie Organisation, Führung und Arbeitsaufgabe benannt.
