Abstract
Polish labour law is based on written law comprising the Polish Constitution and generally applicable legal regulations passed by the Parliament (ustawy), by the Council of Ministers or particular ministers (rozporządzenia). The main legal source of Polish labour law is the Labour Code (Kodeks pracy) which came into force on 1 January 1975 and has been the subject of numerous amendments. This code does not regulate all issues concerning employment relationships in an exhaustive manner—Polish labour law consists of many specific statutory regulations which are complementary to the provisions of the Labour Code.
