Abstract
In tumescent liposuction new equipment is developed almost yearly and old designs are regularly improved upon and modified. The author discusses development of powered liposuction technology, current instrumentation, and advantages and disadvantages of powered instruments. Benefits of powered instruments include decreased work on the part of the liposuction surgeon, increased ease and efficiency of fat harvesting, and a patient’s preference for the comfort of the vibration. It is a nice instrument for difficult fibrofatty areas.
