Zusammenfassung

Die japanische Kampō-Medizin ist ein herausragendes Beispiel für eine in ein modernes Gesundheitssystem bestens integrierte traditionelle Heilkunde. Gerade in einer Gesellschaft mit einem hohen Anteil an alten Menschen ermöglicht das Modell auch große Einsparungen im Gesundheitswesen. Basierend auf der TCM ist Kampō leichter zu erlernen als diese und im klinischen Alltag auch sicherer anzuwenden. Industriell hergestellte Kampō-Arzneimittel entsprechen dem globalen pharmazeutischen Standard. „Shōnishin“ bedeutet wörtlich übersetzt „Kleinkindnadelung“. Shōnishin findet Platz in Arzt- oder Akupunkturpraxen, in der Hebammenarbeit und zunehmend auch in Kliniken. Es ist u. a. Shōnishin zu verdanken, dass im europäischen Raum ein zunehmendes Interesse an traditioneller japanischer Medizin, insbesondere japanischer Akupunktur, zu verzeichnen ist. Yamamotos neue Schädelakupunktur (YNSA), eine in Japan entwickelte Spezialform der Akupunktur, kann alleine oder additiv zur Körperakupunktur eingesetzt werden.
