Zusammenfassung

Die klinisch-medizinische Auseinandersetzung mit sexuellem Kindesmissbrauch ist ein vergleichsweise junges Phänomen. Erst in den 80er und 90er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts wurde hauptsächlich in amerikanischen und einigen britischen Arbeiten das Spektrum klinischer Befunde beschrieben und der Stellenwert der medizinischen Diagnostik als Teil einer obligat multiprofessionellen Herangehensweise etabliert. Die ärztliche Beschäftigung mit dem Thema hat sich erst in den letzten Jahren hin zu evidenzbasierter Forschung und konsensusbasierter Festlegung der »Best Clinical Practice« entwickelt und erfährt zunehmend auch in Deutschland fachliche Akzeptanz. Bei der überwiegenden Mehrzahl sexuell missbrauchter Kinder lassen sich keine auffälligen körperlichen Befunde erheben. Dennoch spielt die korrekte Erhebung, Dokumentation und auf der Grundlage aktueller Evidenz basierende Interpretation sowohl etwaiger Befunde als auch der Gesamtsituation eine große Rolle und kann erhebliche Implikationen für den Schutz und die Betreuung betroffener Kinder haben.
