Zusammenfassung

Die Parabel des barmherzigen Samariters (Lk 10,25) ist das bekannteste Beispiel für ein Handeln im Sinne der Nächstenliebe. Ein Blick in die Psychologie, Theologie und Philosophie zeigt, was sie bedeutet: Die stärkste zwischenmenschliche Zuneigung, die man Freund und Feind gleichermaßen entgegenbringt. Die Forschung zu diesem Thema veranschaulicht, dass ein mit ihr verwandtes Verhaltensmaß stark mit Religiosität zusammenhängt. Den Gegenspieler zur Nächstenliebe stellt in diesem Kapitel die Verachtung dar, eine der Basisemotionen. Im Arbeitsalltag ist eine Kultur der kameradschaftlichen Liebe von Vorteil. Diese Liebesform und Altruismus – ein ebenfalls verwandtes Konstrukt – können durch unterschiedlich tief greifende Verhaltensformen und Training beeinflusst werden. Das Kernproblem der Nächstenliebe ist ihre tiefe emotionale Verwurzelung, die ihr Auftreten im strengsten Sinne sehr unwahrscheinlich macht.
