Zusammenfassung
Von unserem alltäglichen Lebensraum ist anzunehmen, dass er mit verschiedenen, teilweise individuellen Bedeutungen ausgefüllt und wahrgenommen wird, die das persönliche Wohlbefinden beeinflussen. Diesem Gedanken wird in der Wissenschaft mit dem Konzept des sence of place Rechnung getragen. Es beschreibt die Bindung einer Person oder einer Gruppe an einen Ort, das dort entstehende Gemeinschaftsgefühl und die tatsächliche Abhängigkeit von diesem als Grundpfeiler des Wohlbefindens. In der vorliegenden Arbeit ermittle ich, inwiefern diese Bedeutungen an einzelne Objekte gebunden sind und untersuche den Einfluss einer städtischen Umgebung auf das mentale Wohlbefinden in den Städten Aachen und Bonn in Deutschland. Ausschlaggebende Faktoren für den sence of place werden darin identifiziert und miteinander in Verbindung gebracht. Reflexive Fotografie und Fotoelizitation bilden dabei die methodische Basis und werden von Leitfadeninterviews gestützt.
