Abstract

Produced from anthropogenic and natural sources (IPCC 2007; Zhang et al. 2004, 2009), atmospheric aerosols play an important role in regulating the radiative balance of the Earth-Atmosphere system, directly by reflecting or absorbing the incoming solar radiation and indirectly by influencing cloud formation.
