Zusammenfassung

Charakteristikum aller Olefine ist, dass sie eine C=C-Doppelbindung enthalten. Die Bindungsverhältnisse der C=C-Doppelbindung lassen sich mit zwei unterschiedlichen Modellen beschreiben. Nach dem in Abschn. 2.4.3 (Abb. 2.9) kurz erwähnten, doch weniger gebräuchlichen Modell bestehen C=C-Doppelbindungen aus zwei gebogenen C–C-Einfachbindungen. Mit einer Bindungsenergie von jeweils 73 kcal/mol ist jede von ihnen 10 kcal/mol weniger stabil als die lineare C–C-Bindung eines Aliphaten. Gewöhnlich verwendet man zur Beschreibung der Bindungsverhältnisse das zweite Modell.
