Zusammenfassung
Die Skabies ist eine häufige, weltweit auftretende Ektoparasitose. Speziell in tropischen und subtropischen Regionen der Erde ist sie aufgrund vermehrter Impetiginisierung mit gravierenden Folgekrankheiten vergesellschaftet, insbesondere mit der Glomerulonephritis. Daher wurden kürzlich internationale Bemühungen um die Eindämmung der Erkrankung verstärkt. Die Diagnostik der Skabies hat sich durch den dermatoskopischen Milbennachweis vereinfacht. Permethrin ist das Lokaltherapeutikum der Wahl, jedoch nicht in allen Ländern der Welt verfügbar, die orale Ivermectin-Therapie ist eine wertvolle Bereicherung der Behandlungsmöglichkeiten in speziellen Situationen.
