Zusammenfassung
Patienten mit chronischen Lungenerkrankungen fühlen sich durch Atemnot im Alltag stark eingeschränkt. Dieses Kapitel charakterisiert umfassend das Leitsymptom Atemnot (Dyspnoe). Die Klage über Dyspnoe (Atemnot) und besonders Belastungsdyspnoe (Anstrengungsatemnot) steht bei Patienten mit chronischen Lungenerkrankungen oft im Vordergrund. Viele Lungenfunktionsstörungen können grundsätzlich auch zu Müdigkeit und Erschöpfung führen. In der englischsprachigen Fachliteratur ist dafür der Ausdruck Fatigue üblich. Obwohl es mittlerweile mehrere standardisierte Instrumente gibt, ergeben sich bei der Quantifizierung der Symptome häufig Diskrepanzen bezüglich der Befunde. Ein weiteres Hindernis für die Erfassung von Dyspnoe und Fatigue ist die Subjektivität der beiden Phänomene.
