Zusammenfassung

Auf Grund der Vorschläge von Andrewes, Bang und Burnet (1955) werden in dieser Gruppe folgende Virusarten zusammengefaßt: Influenzavirus A, B, C (M. influenzae A, B, C), Newcastle Disease-Virus (M. multiforme), Geflügelpest-virus (M. pestis galli), Mumpsvirus (M. parotidis). Ebenfalls zu dieser Gruppe rechnet man nach Andrewes, Bang, Chanock und Zhdanow (1959) die Parainfluenzaviren (M. para-influenzae 1-3). Die allen Species gemeinsame Eigenschaft, mit der auch die Aufstellung dieser Gruppe motiviert wurde, beruht auf ihrem Verhalten gegenüber Erythrocyten. Die Viruspartikel lagern sich an die Oberfläche von Blutkörperchen verschiedener Tierspecies an und bewirken dadurch eine Hämagglutination (Hurst 1941). Diese Adsorption wird von einer mehr oder weniger vollständigen Elution gefolgt, wobei in einem enzymatischen Prozeß die mucoproteinhaltigen Receptoren der Erythrocytenoberfläche irreversibel zerstört werden. Die Adsorption von Viren kann durch im Serum vorkommende Mucoproteine verhindert werden; Erythrocyten, die mit dem Receptor-destroyingEnzyme von Vibrio cholerae behandelt wurden, lassen sich durch Viren nicht mehr agglutinieren.
