Serial Chromosome Studies in Transplanted Ph1 + CML Patients

Sporadic Observation of Ph1 + Cells after BMT

  • Chapter
11th Annual meeting of the EBMT

Abstract

The cytogenetic follow-up of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) submitted to bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is particularly useful since this disease is marked by a specific chromosome aberration, the Philadelphia chromosome (Phl) and residual leukemic cells may be easily detected. We report on the sporadic observation of Phi+ cells after BMT, without signs of relapse of the disease.
