Sequence of a DPβ cDNA from the DR5, DQw7, DPw4b Cell Line Swei

  • Chapter
Immunobiology of HLA

Abstract

The HLA-DP molecules were the last of the HLA class II molecules to be identified. These molecules were originally detected by the primed lymphocyte test. Their low representation on cells compared to DR and DQ molecules, and the difficulty in generating DP-specific antibodies have resulted in these molecules being the least well studied with respect to both disease associations and biochemical and molecular biologic characterization. Indeed, very few DP genes have been sequenced to date.
