In parallel-processing systems, one of the most important issues in achieving high effectiveness is the coincidence of the parallel structure of both hardware and problem. Therefore, the philosophy of how problems’ parallel structures are mapped into the hardware structure is very important in highly parallel computers. Current methods can be categorized into the following types.
