Dietary Restriction as a Probe of Mechanisms of Senescence

  • Chapter
Special Focus on the Biology of Aging

Abstract

With the passage of time, changes of a deteriorative nature occur in most, if not all, living creatures, which are referred to as aging. The nature of the fundamental biological processes underlying aging is not known; moreover, this state of almost total ignorance has made it difficult to design studies that yield insights about aging processes.
