Abstract
The diploid number of 48 for this species is the usual number for the family, and consists of one-arm chromosomes. A short second arm is not always detectable under the light microscope. The chromosomes are similar in appearance, but show about a four-fold range in size. In common with other centrarchids, chromosomal sexual dimorphism is not observed.
