Abstract

The object of this paper is to present in summary fashion some data on hormone production by the adrenal medulla and the adrenal cortex under conditions of endotoxin shock. Consequently, we shall be dealing with catecholamines, on the one hand, and corticosteroids, including Cortisol and aldosterone, on the other. During the past decade, physico-chemical methods have been worked out, allowing qualitative and quantitative analysis of both these categories of hormones in adrenal venous blood.
