Zusammenfassung
Kobalt ist etwa zu 0,0018% in der Erdrinde enthalten. In gediegener Form kommt es mit Eisen und Nickel legiert in den Eisenmeteoriten und im terrestrischen Eisen vor. Der durchschnittliche Gehalt der Meteorite an Kobalt beträgt nach Niggli 5,8 · 10−3, nach I. u. W. Noddack 5,47 · 10−3 Gewichtsteile. Im terrestrischen Eisen sind kleinere Beimengungen an Kobalt enthalten.
