Abstract
The great complexity of living cells is one of the chief difficulties in the analysis of the action of drugs. Many of the functions of cells are carried out by means of proteins carrying active groups and since these proteins are acted upon by many drugs, the study of the reactions between active proteins and drugs provides valuable information regarding the more complex problem of the action of drugs on cells.
