Zusammenfassung

Als Sulfatasen oder korrekter als Schwefelsäureester-Hydrolasen [System-Nr. in der Klassifikation der Enzymkommission 3.1.6] werden Enzyme bezeichnet, welche Schwefelsäure-Ester alkoholischer oder phenolischer Körper nach der allgemeinen Gleichung

$$ ROS{O_3}H + {H_2}O \to ROH + {H_2}S{O_4} $$

hydrolysieren. Nach der chemischen Natur der Substrate kann man die Schwefelsäureester-Hydrolasen in folgende Gruppen einteilen:

  1. 1.

    Arylsulfatasen [Arylsulfat-Sulfohydrolase, 3.1.6.1], welche die Hydrolase von Phenolschwefelsäure-Estern katalysieren.
