Abstract

A review is given of the anatomy of descending supraspinal fibre systems to the spinal cord in the cat, based on experimental investigations of the author and his collaborators. The origin, course and sites and mode of termination have been studied by the use of silver impregnation technique following lesions of various supraspinal structures. Particular attention has been devoted to a precise mapping of the sites of ending with reference to Rexed’s architectonic map of the cord (Rexed 1952, 1954).
