Abstract
R U-characteristics of clean symmetric contacts are shown in Figs. (21.02), (21.03) and (21.06), while Fig. (28.01) represents a contact with a thin film, whose fritting can be followed in the R U-characteristic. The presentation of further R U-characteristics in this paragraph has the purpose of exemplifying and stressing the difference between R U-characteristics of fresh contacts and their reversibles, a problem that has often been overlooked in literature.
All diagrams of this paragraph are taken from R. and E. Holm [8], where various diagrams are given for iron, silver, copper, zinc, lead, aluminum, antimony, bismuth, molybdenum, tungsten and tantalum contacts.
