Zusammenfassung
Pflanzliche Dauergewebszellen können eine sehr hohe, bis über 100.000 r reichende Resistenz gegen Röntgenbestrahlungen (Strugger, Krebs und Gerlach 1953) besitzen. Demgegenüber ist schon lange bekannt, daß keimende Samen durch eine große Strahlenempfindlichkeit ausgezeichnet sind (Koernicke 1915, Henshaw und Francis 1935, Johnson 1936, Wertz 1940 u. a.). Beim Weizen (Biebl und Pape 1951) und bei Soja (Biebl 1958) gibt sich schon eine einmalige, zum Zeitpunkt der strahlenempfindlichsten Keimungsphase verabreichte Röntgendosis von 250–500 r in nachfolgenden leichten Wachstumshemmungen bzw. Blattdeformationen zu erkennen. Daß es bei fraktionierter Bestrahlung während der strahlenempfindlichen Keimungsphase nicht nur auf eine gewisse Gesamtdosis, sondern auch auf eine bestimmte Intensität der Einzelbestrahlungen ankommt, konnte an Weizenkeimlingen gezeigt werden (Biebl 1959a, b).
