Zusammenfassung
Die Diagnostik und Behandlung arteriosklerotischer Gefäßveränderungen ist seit Jahren in allen Zivilisationsländern der westlichen Welt zu einem wesentlichen Bestandteil der Medizin geworden. Einengungen (Stenosen) der Herzkranzgefäße verursachen Angina pectoris oder können einen Herzinfarkt auslösen. Arteriosklerotische Gefäßeinengungen in den Becken- und Beinarterien führen von Beschwerden beim Gehen bis hin zur Beinamputation.
