Random Signals Analyses Applied to Vehicle-Track Interaction
The inter-relations between vehicle and track can be described in terms of transfer functions, indicating how the various geometry components contribute to a given response component of the vehicle. In conventional approaches use is made of mathematical models, based on a schematisation according to masses, springs and dampers. As a rule, the predictive merits of such models turn out to be small, due to the impossibility of accurately determining the model parameters.
