Abstract

The epidemiology of contact dermatitis is concerned with describing the distribution of contact dermatitis in human populations and with identifying factors that affect this distribution. A basic activity in epidemiology involves counting the number of diseased persons (cases) in a specified population and recording relevant characteristics of these diseased persons and of the study population.
