Zusammenfassung
Oberbauchbeschwerden wie Schmerzen, Druckgefühl oder vorzeitige Sättigung mit Völlegefühl sind in der Allgemeinbevölkerung ausgesprochen häufig. Auch unter den Patienten in hausärztlichen und fachärztlich-gastroenterologischen Praxen sowie in spezialisierten Institutionen der Tertiärversorgung leidet ein Großteil der Patienten unter solchen Beschwerden. In weniger als der Hälfte der Fälle kann das Beschwerdebild mit den heute klinisch verfügbaren Untersuchungsmethoden durch strukturelle Läsionen oder mit biochemischen Veränderungen erklärt werden. Bei den Patienten mit Oberbauchbeschwerden ohne identifizierbare morphologische oder biochemische Veränderung wird internistischerseits eine funktionelle Dyspepsie oder — im psychosomatischen Kontext — eine somatoforme autonome Funktionsstörung des oberen Gastrointestinaltrakts (F45.31 nach ICD-10) diagnostiziert.
