Innovation-Oriented Environmental Regulation

Part of the book series: ZEW Economic Studies ((ZEW,volume 10))

Abstract

The paper summarizes the results of a German research project, which dealt with the impacts of environmental regulation on innovation. It outlines the main theoretical approaches and definitions. The paper provides the backbone of several case studies introduced in this volume by condensing the results into a table of hypotheses that have been rejected or accepted in the course of the research efforts.
