Abstract
Following the oral administration of histamine to a variety of animals, acetylhistamine is excreted in the urine1. The conversion of histamine to acetylhistamine has also been demonstrated in vitro with rabbit liver slices, pigeon liver slices, or extracts of acetone powder of pigeon liver, in the presence of coenzyme A (Millican et al., 1949).
